We Constantly Loose People in Our Lives

We constantly loose people in our lives, friends, lovers and even family. It is a sad reality that we must accept. A reality that will give you pain. A reality that brings you to the realm of sadness and loneliness. It would take weeks, months and even years to forget especially if it has caused you so much damage.

I have lost and I have been hurt. I have felt this constantly. The feeling of rejection and pain. The pangs of self pity. The filth and the emptiness that eats your heart slowly. The constant depression that you are trying to fight. The feeling of no purpose. Having your own world and having no one to hold on through the pain. Wanting to have locked yourself and do nothing, just lying in your bed and hear the thwart of the empty walls. A forced smile that nobody reckons. It is hard.

Yes it is hard but I tell you it won't kill you. It will end soon and will make you learned, wise and grateful hopefully and not harden you.

Why do these things happen? Because it is meant so that we will have better lives, better relationships, better personalities and to see who would remain by your side. We loose people because we need to learn to ask forgiveness and to forgive. These people may come to our lives and try to enter it again. To learn moving on and letting go, accepting the fact that they are never coming back. To learn about love, faith, loyalty and friendship. And we loose them because God has other plans for you, a better plan. A plan that we don't understand now but will serve its purpose tomorrow.

But for those who have constantly stayed and giving unconditional love and support, we owe them thank you. A dedication of gratitude no matter how small and big is more than enough. =)

Medical Information

Dengue Fever is rampant again. What is dengue fever? It is a viral infection brought about by its carrier the Aedes egypti, a day biting mosquito. It is characterized by fever that is intermittent, moderate grade to high grade, flu-like symptoms and at severe cases bleeding and shock. Worst case scenarios would lead to death. Definitive diagnosis: platelet count of less than 150,000.

Prevention would be environmental cleaning. Treatment: Fluids and watchful waiting preferably admitted especially when platelet is less than a hundred thousand.

Advice: Do not panic. Parents, please be reminded that on the start of the fever and one day fever will not give you any derangement of the result of the platelet.

I am Number Four

I am number four is a based on the book with the same title written by Pittacus Lore, an alien author as claimed. I was clueless of the movie when my sisters drag me to the movie house. I just sit there barely awake because it was ten in the evening. It started with two strangers lying in a hammock, in a hut in the middle of the jungle when they were attacked by a strange creature. The two were left dead and somewhere out in another place a guy named Daniel had a sudden outburst, burning light on his leg.

Daniel was no ordinary boy. He is a Lorien child, another planet in the universe. Their planet was destroyed by a another alien race called Mogadarians. Only nine children with special powers and their guardians were the only ones left and fled to earth to grow and avenge their loss. The Mogadarians followed them on earth and killed the remaining Loriens. The nine children can only be killed in the order of their numbers. The first three are already dead and the burning light on Daniel's leg suggests that the one of the nine is killed. The third scar broke then Daniel, the fourth child, is next.

Rating: 5 thumbs up. Thrilling, exciting and power action. Hoping the sequel would be much better.

Medical Information

Most of the patient I meet does self medication. Fever, cough and colds with early onsets are subjected for such. However, especially in the community, people are fond of using antibiotics, commonly amoxicillin, for medicating either of the symptoms mentioned above. The worst part is the use of such antibiotics is usually wrong, underdosage or overdosage.

There is too much danger in the wrong use antibiotics especially when the disease entities is viral or fungal in origin. ANTIBIOTICS are for BACTERIAL INFECTION only and exclusively. Common colds and cough are usually viral in origin which can be managed conservatively such increase fluid intake and rest.

Secondly, wrong use of antibiotics may lead to development of resistance of the bacterial agent towards the drug. This will lead your doctor to use antibiotics with higher potency and wider bacterial coverage which usually is costly.

Thirdly, danger of overdosage may lead to untoward reaction which may be life threatening. Drugs usually pass on our liver and kidneys. Wrong use may cause us both organs.

Advice: Always consult your doctor.

Laboratories are aids in diagnosing. When we age we usually develop disease that needs routine check and your doctors may advice you to have laboratories taken yearly, every 6 months, quarterly, monthly or weekly. For those who are healthy a yearly check-up maybe recommended.

The usual routine laboratories for executive check-up are Chest XRAY, Ultrasound of whole abdomen, complete blood count, urinalysis, FBS for non-diabetics, HBA1C for diabetics, Blood uric acid, Creatinine especially for diabetics and hypertensives, lipid profile and ECG.

Medical Information

Every drug has side effects. It would have different reaction to different patient.  The drug given to you by your physician is basically picked based on its effectivity and action.
Advice: Always ask your physician why is it given to you, the action of the drug and possible side effects. Mention any allergies or previous untoward reactions to drugs.

Drugs have generic names. In your prescription, some physicians would directly write the brand names.

Advice: Ask your physician for generic names.

Leticia, a Paradise Getaway

Leticia by the Sea is one of the numerous resorts in one of the islands in Davao City, Talikod Island. It can be reached by riding a ferry boat in Sta Ana Warf along Leon Garcia Avenue, Davao City mainland. The fare a few months ago was still Php 75.00. Then you will be directly sent to the the resorts own pier.

My experience there was a free of charge. That is one of the perks of being a doctor. You get a lot of freebies and sponsored outings (*winks*). The whole place was rented inclusive of all the cottages, meals, snacks, kayaking and jet ski use for one hour. The rent was about Php 50,000 and we are 20 in the group which as about Php 2500 for 24 hours individually. It is a reasonable price if you are in a group.

The place is exhilarating! It is a paradise. You would love to stay there forever. Relaxing, homey and definitely romantic. Come visit. I think they have a page in Facebook if you would like to inquire.

Anime Reviews

I can't remember any year in my life that I didn't like to watch cartoons. Ever since I can remember my family has exposed me to every possible cartoons that the TV shows. I can memorize the songs and it came to a point that even the movie lines. I am so lucky that everyone in the family loves it.

When I was in elementary, I have the freedom to watch any television show that I liked. And mostly, I have picked up kids shows and cartoons are no exemption. I didn't realize that t has became a habit of mine since it made a sense of separation from reality, an escape that transcends my imagination to Dreamland, Alice's could be. Since then I never stopped. It was some sort of hobby, sometimes addiction but in a good way though.

In high school, a local television network made an all time anime favorite, Ghost fighter, prime time. I was whacked and everyone in school is. We had an obsession which spunked my imagination. I even learnt how to sketch and etched my pencil to any piece of paper I'd fine to draw the characters. I had memorabilia of all sorts. It was a blast. Then from that day on, my love for anime never stopped growing even if I am in my late 20's.

These are the anime that I am currently watching (I have watched so many that I can't, in one blog, review all of them anymore. I can do a series of blogs though):

Bleach is a story of a boy named Ichigo who by a strange course of faith turned into a Shinigami (death god). Together with his friends, they had to face a real adventure in the spirit world. Action-packed with comedy, highly exhilarating.
Rating: 5/5 stars

Although Fairy Tail has some sort of similarity with Naruto. It's comedic acts are unmatched. It is funny and still actioned packed series. And the adventure had only just begun.
Rating: 4.5/5 stars

Kaicho wa Maid Sama is a story of Misaki, a high schooler who enrolled in a previously exclusive all boys school that has recently turned coed. Misaki is the president of the school but secretly works as a maid in a maid cafe. One boy from school discovered her secret which started the series cat and dog fights with a series of "kilig" moments.
Rating: 5/5 because in the usual anime setting the girl is the one who follows the boy but in this anime it is the other way around. It is so kilig.

Starry sky is an anime about a girl who enrolled in a astrological school that is dominated by boys. She is surrounded boys that has each their own story to tell.
Rating: 3/5 stars. There are still very few episodes and the stories are in fragments that I am not able to connect that much.

Gosick is story of a Japanese boy enrolled in a prestigious school that houses children of royalty or of the high-status in the society. He was left wandering in a huge library and found on top a beautiful maiden, Victorique who happened to be his classmate who was forcibly confined there. Together they solve series for crimes. Thrilling, passionate and unbelievably exciting.
Rating: 5/5 stars

I watch my favorite anime on this site: www.animecrazy.net

Coffee, My Pure Happiness

Its funny how nowadays everything has commodities including my sisters' and mine's pure happiness, Coffee our 75% poodle and 25% shih tzu 11-month old pup. We had him go to a dog spa were his luscious hair was trimmed and shampooed. He looks really cute and now poodle-like that a celebrity would own. He is a celebrity in his own way anyway. Just look at that beauty (*wink*).

Med Life Crisis

What makes medlyf crazy is its emotional hung ups. Yup we heal but mostly we are the ones who are wounded. To heal, you have to sacrifice not to feel every emotion. To function, you have to make up a good front. To stand, you have to reeveluate yourself over and over again.

So why did I chose this kind of life? I don’t know either. I guess some masochist in me just dictates so. I guess some noble man in me bugs me to contribute something to the community. Or does the ambitious in me tells me to soar up high. Even reason can’t pronounce its purpose.

I am nomad in this world. My home isn’t left to one place but to various places and experiences. I learn from people  and as selfish as it can be I take a piece of them to my abode, myself. That is my adventure and I view med life as one.

I am inlove to whom I can’t be sure of. Is it compassion and sacrifice? I guess so. To love isn’t mere happiness with the fancy flowers and boxed chocolates. To love or to be inlove is to walk to that endless road of sacrifice. To work my ass out day-in, day-out to survive is my so called med life. Its something i love.

So it has become countless and nonetheless pointless often times but it is meant. I am to do so because I am capable. I bleed but I heal. I feel but I heal. I human but I heal. It is worth it.
